I live seventeen miles from work and love to bike commute whenever possible. Unfortunately, these are some days when I run out of energy and just don’t have it in me for the commute home at the end of the day. My Schwinn electric bike eliminates this problem for me as I can ride in the morning without assistance, and then blast home at night. One Friday night, after a particularly grueling work week, I hopped on my electric bike and started to ride home. About three miles out from my house, I started up a hill only to see a guy doing hill repeats on the hill ahead of me on his road bike.

I think his spirit was crushed when I rode by in my commuter clothes with two full saddle bags. I love being able to ride all of the time. And I can now because of my Schwinn electric bike.

OMG, I love, love, love this bike. Have had it in hand for one week. My longest outing was for about 5 hours yesterday. Did some shopping. Took in a jazz band in the park.

Rides beautifully as a 24 speed. Turned on the motor for hills. By the mid-day I was actually riding around looking for the hilliest route home. Streets that I absolutely avoided before are no problem, now. The power gauge dipped past the first green light, briefly when cresting a hill on the way home.

One learning was to let go and let the bike help. I was actually working too hard to go up a major in town hill. Once I moved to a lower gear the bike kicked in and made it a breeze.

I just converted to commuting for "Commute Another Way" week last week. Took the bus two days and road the bike two days. I serve on city council in Portland, Maine and am trying to set an example by lowering my personal carbon footprint. This technology has given me a major jumpstart to achieve my goals.

This is great so far, hoping to stick to it and will soon be joining a local bike commuter group.

I am your basic over fifty, overweight, office worker mom/grandma. When I passed a lovely young woman in tight biker clothes working to go up hill, you should have seen the puzzled look of surprise on her face.

I couldn’t be happier with my Schwinn Continental Electric bike. The high fuel prices forced me to change my driving habits, so I instituted a “no car on the weekend’s policy for myself” and bought a Schwinn Continental electric bike to ride in place of my gas guzzler.
